The Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce is neutral on the decision to incorporate or not. We provide this website as a service for the benefit of our members and the community of Clearwater. Municipal Incorporation Study Released Public Meeting to be held on Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 Over the past few months, the Clearwater Incorporation Study Committee has examined the potential impacts of municipal incorporation. Assisted by the consulting firm Urban Systems, the Committee has now released a copy of the complete Municipal Incorporation Study, available at www.clients.urban-systems.com/clearwaterincorporation. On Tuesday, February 13th, the Clearwater Incorporation Study Committee will be hosting two public meetings to review and discuss the recently released Municipal Incorporation Study. The meetings will be held at the Clearwater Legion (257 Glen Road), and they will run from noon to 1:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Both meetings will have the same format, beginning with a short presentation, followed by time for questions and discussion. Based on the study findings and public input at these meetings and any necessary follow-up meetings, the Incorporation Study Committee will recommend whether or not the Province should order an incorporation vote. Ultimately, the decision on whether or not to incorporate rests with the community, as any decision on incorporation requires voter assent through a referendum. In addition to hearing the views of those within the study area, the Committee would also like to gauge the level of interest from Greer area residents with respect to inclusion in the study. If you live in this area, please plan to attend one of the February 13th meetings to voice your opinion. Thank you for your interest, and the Committee looks forward to continuing public involvement as it examines the possibility of incorporation for our community.
